Sold On Sunshine Coast - - Suburb Profile | Bli Bli -

NAMED after the term Billai billai which is an Aboriginal word for swamp oak, Bli Bli has a wealth of history, yet is still experiencing a resurgence in infrastructure as well as new residential buildings.

In a central location between the river and ocean, it is an ideal location close to both Maroochydore and Nambour. It is also situated within close proximity to the Sunshine Coast Airport and the beaches of Maroochy North Shore.

Set within the boundary of a grazing lease, which once had an area of 647ha, Bli Bli began to take shape in 1862, when a homestead was first erected by John Westaway.

Today the Bli Bli region is a growing riverfront community with a mix of diverse housing styles and situations.

Ranging from acreage lots to master-planned communities and retirement villages, not only is this a safe place to live, but also highly regarded with the ever increasing number of local residents.

Bli Bli continues as an emerging force in the Sunshine Coast property market. Following outstanding growth of 9.7% in 2015, the housing market has continued to sky rocket and significant infrastructure growth in the Bli Bli precinct will ensure this is one of the hot pockets to watch in 2017.

Three of the main tourist attractions of the Sunshine Coast can be found here, with each one attracting tourists to the region.

Known for the Maroochy River Wetlands Sanctuary Reserve and boardwalk as well as the famous Bli Bli Castle, it is also home to Aqua Park, a popular venue offering a range of water sports including wake boarding and cable skiing. The introduction of the inflatable water park, continues to draw crowds and it’s always a hit with families, especially during the warmer months.

A range of shopping opportunities are available with more retail and commercial developments under construction, forming a bond between the township and giving the locals more choices to shop and spend within the region.

In recent years, Bli Bli has welcomed with the multi-million-dollar redevelopment of the Supa IGA and River Markets Shopping Centre.

As well as residential and commercial upgrades, a sporting ground and a new catholic school offering from Prep to Year 12 is included as part of the master-planned community.

The residential community of Parklakes is just one of the major success stories coming out of Bli Bli within recent years.

This picturesque master-planned residential community offers residents stunning views all the way to Mt Coolum.

With the goal to connect residents with nature in a quiet location, while remaining within easy reach of amenities that the Coast has to offer, Parkland offers accommodation for the first home buyer, growing family as well as baby boomers.

Effortlessly blending the old with the new, and locals with tourists, Bli Bli offers it all.

With the small community booming with residential and commercial upgrades, Bli Bli is definitely one to watch.
