SITUATED within the Caloundra urban centre is the seaside suburb of Kings Beach which was named after the King family, the first residents of the area.

Well known Brisbane politician Robert Bullcock, purchased a large area of land at Caloundra around 1877.

Almost 40 years later, a portion of the parcel was subdivided, to be followed almost a decade later with a subdivision opposite Kings Beach.

By 1930, the North Coast as it was known, was becoming increasingly popular as a seaside resort.

Guest houses attracted holiday-makers and Brisbane residents were especially drawn to the Caloundra area, very much just as they are today.

When it comes to natural beauty you’ll find Kings Beach rates high on most people’s list. Along with pristine surrounds, it’s an appealing district attracting people from all over the globe.

A local icon is the Kings Beach bathing pavilion; heritage-listed changing rooms situated in Ormonde Tce. Designed by Clifford Plant, the rooms were built in 1937 to entice even more holiday makers to this beach.

Regal in name and majestic in what it has to offer, Kings Beach ticks all the boxes plus more with dazzling sand and clear blue water.

Although technically not ocean, the beach has double the swimming options thanks to a beachfront, saltwater swimming pool. How nice it is to swim in the salt air, without any worries of dumping waves.

Kings Beach is an idyllic place for the whole family as it offers gentle conditions year round.

Home to the Metropolitan Caloundra Surf Life Saving Club, you can rest easy that the kids are safe to splash about on the patrolled shoreline.

Few restaurants have the awesome views that our surf clubs can boast of and this one is no exception.

To satisfy both tourists and locals, there are many eating options to explore along Kings Beach. From authentic Italian to spicy Thai, there is a flavour to suit every tastebud.

From tastebuds to taste in music, the annual Caloundra Music Festival comes to Kings Beach each year for four days of sun, surf and soul.

Featuring a diverse line-up of Australia’s best musicians as well as international artists, the festival brings locals and visitors together to enjoy world-class music, fabulous food and creative art enriched in the local laidback atmosphere.

Considered by some as the king of beaches, it is this relaxed, seaside culture that is so appealing to so many.

Boasting a festive atmosphere all year-round, Kings Beach has something for everyone.

There are enchanting rock pools, an ocean-front swimming pool, a gentle saltwater swell and a playground of water fountains.

Kings Beach is renowned for its favoured relaxed seaside lifestyle where you can live like a king for much less than a king’s ransom.

A popular beachside location for locals and tourists looking for a swim.

Caloundra Music Festival.
