CEDIA ANNOUNCES STRAT­EGY & AWARDS

CEDIA HQ has an­nounced “out­puts from its new strate­gic plan”, and be­yond the mar­ket­ing speak the goal is for sig­nif­i­cant ad­vances and lead­er­ship in three key ar­eas: ed­u­ca­tion; in­creas­ing pro­fes­sion­al­ism though stan­dards, guide­lines, and best prac­tices; and deeper en­gage­ment and part­ner­ship with the de­sign and build com­mu­nity.

Mean­while CEDIA has also an­nounced that projects can be en­tered into the 2018 CEDIA Awards pro­gram up to 14 May 2018, with en­trants first com­pet­ing within their re­gion — Amer­i­cas, EMEA, or Asia Pa­cific — and win­ners from there go­ing into the global Awards run­ning. Cat­e­gories in­clude In­te­grated Home; Me­dia Room; Home Cinema; In­no­va­tive So­lu­tion or Sys­tem; Show­room; Auto, Marine, or Air­cra”; Mul­ti­ple Dwelling Unit De­sign, Best Doc­u­men­ta­tion, Best Dressed Rack, and Best Light­ing Sys­tem, while that “deeper en­gage­ment” with the de­sign and build com­mu­nity will see ex­perts from those sec­tors judg­ing win­ners for the ‘Life Lived Best at Home’ Award and the ‘Tech­nol­ogy Meets De­sign’ Award.
