SOME of the South Burnett’s finest photographers were on show on Sunday with the Nanango District Camera Club hosting its Digital Projected Images competition.

The local club took out the overall prize with 247 points, beating runner-up Blackbutt by a single point.

Amateur photographer Sonia Vine captured the photo with the highest rated score, and said photography meant different things for different people.

“The shot that won was taken early morning, and I really love those nature shots because it’s a nice quiet and peaceful time for me,” she said.

Judge Peter O’Brien has been taking photos for more than 25 years, and has developed a keen eye for a good picture.

“When I am looking at photos, I am really looking for that ‘wow’ factor, which jumps out at you as soon as you look at it, especially with its use of colour.”

HELPFUL HINTS: Competition judge Peter O’Brien passes on his knowledge to local amateur photographer Sonia Vine.
