Big plans for budget funds
TOURIST parks will receive a boost in funding with new cabins to be built at Lake Boondooma and Yallakool Caravan Park. Unlike the pools, the parks are one of the council owned assets that are turning a profit, bringing in more than $1 million each year.
Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said the parks were an asset and as part of the budget, three new cabins will be built at each park at cost of about $600,000. And Cr Kratzmann said there might be room for one more after the State Government donated a further $96,000.
“During the holidays the cabins are almost completely booked out and that brings more people to the town and to the region,” he said.
