Butcher shop changes

South Burnett Times - - NEWS -

BUTCHER shops and hardware stores will be able to open longer hours following the Queensland Government review into trading hours. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the current arrangements where some butchers could not open on Sundays, when a lot of people enjoyed a barbecue, did not pass the common sense test. “All butcher shops and bulk meat retailers should have their trading arrangements aligned with shops selling fish, fruit and vegetables and takeaway food,” she said. “The review’s findings made it very clear that the patchwork of over regulation of trading hours no longer suits our modern lifestyles.” The proposal is for these stores to be able to open from 6am Sundays.
