Ballerina drops into Kingaroy
ON SATURDAY, October 7, Kingaroy Dance Academy had an amazing experience, when Queensland Ballerina soloist, Teri Crilly came to Kingaroy Dance Academy’s studio to teach ballet classes.
Around 35 students, some as young as two years old, took the class which incorporated barre work, centre work and learning the Nutcracker solo from Queensland Ballet’s production.
Students then had the opportunity to ask Teri lots of questions about herself, the life of a ballerina, how the company prepares their pointe shoes, audition process and dancing tips.
KDA dancer, Kaitlyn Hannessen said the following:
“It was a privilege to meet and be taught by Queensland Ballet dancer, Teri Crilly.
“She had the smile and energy that immediately encouraged you to dance.
“I learnt so much from the experience, and I’m excited to be able to apply her knowledge to my dancing.”
