Bring out your inner bogan
WHAT happens when you mix bogans with bingo? You get Bogan Bingo, a cross between a live comedy show and a bingo competition.
The touring show will be in Kingaroy on October 28 as part of a fundraiser for the Kingaroy Dance Academy’s USA tour.
Deb Hannessen is the organiser of the Kingaroy event.
“It’s something different for the area,” Ms Hannessen said.
“It’s half game show, half party. The bingo caller calls out numbers while their buddying DJ plays songs from the ‘80s and ‘90s that rhyme with those numbers.
“Everyone will get two games of bingo. It’s more of a comedy gag as well as bingo.”
Ms Hannessen said everyone who came along was encouraged to dress up and let out their inner bogan.
“Obviously a mullet is a popular thing to wear,” she said.
“Also a flannelet shirt, thongs, footy shorts, blue singlets, Bonds singlets.”
Ms Hannessen said the event would also have a true-blue Aussie barbie as well as plenty of tinnies and stubbies to go around.
“There will be prizes for bingo, prizes for best dressed, air guitar competitions, everything bogan you can think of,” she said. “It’s going to be great.” Bogan Bingo will be held on October 28 at the Kingaroy Showgrounds from 6pm.
Tickets for the adult only event are $30, which include entry, two games of bingo and a grazing plater for each table.
Tickets are available at Andersson’s Fruit Market and CTC Mechanical Kingaroy.
WHAT A LAUGH: A Bogan Bingo event, similar to this one pictured in Ipswich, will be held in Kingaroy at the end of the month.
