Classical guitarist touring for Lifeline
IF YOU’VE been to Kingaroy Shoppingworld today or yesterday you may have seen Murray Mandel playing some relaxing guitar.
Sydney man Mr Mandel is touring the country over a three year period, stopping at towns along the way performing street guitar to raise money for Lifeline.
So far he has raised more than $11,000.
He played at Kingaroy Shoppingworld on Monday and Tuesday this week, before heading to Gympie to continue his tour.
“I want to connect with as many Australians as I can and get the message out there for this Australian humanitarian organisation,” he said.
“I’ve had lots of interesting conversations and met lots of interesting people.”
Since he was born, Mr Mandel has had profound hearing loss in both ears.
He started to study
classical guitar in 2010 playing at private functions and fundraising events.
Mr Mandel plans to visit more than 150 destinations around Australia until 2020.
