BACK TO SCHOOL FOR GRANDPARENTS

South Burnett Times - - SOUTH BURNETT SCHOOL NEWS -

ON NOVEMBER 2, Cloyna State School celebrated Grandparents’ Day.

It was a special day for all those who attended the program and for us, as it gave us a chance to interact with an age group that is most often overlooked.

Bella, Zac and Kye Borninkhof celebrated the day with both set of grandparents.

Grandparents play an imperative role in the life of every child.

They are the child’s support and their best friend.

Grandparents pamper the kids more than the parents themselves and leave a lasting impression in the child’s life. So it’s time to facilitate and honour the grandparents.

The event started with interviews by the children, followed by a quiz Are You Smarter than Your Grandchild? between the grandparents and students.

The younger students shared a story with their grandparents and then did some drawings for them.

“It was an excellent morning with my grandson and my son’s best mate. I hope it is an event every year. I can’t wait to go next year,” grandparent William said.

Grandparents joined the children and staff for a lovely morning tea together to finish the day. Everyone was truly happy. It was a very successful event indeed, and we look forward to many more.
