BENARKIN STUDENT TO CARRY QUEEN’S BATON
CONGRATULATIONS to Year 4 Benarkin School student Sage Volschenk on being selected to carry the Queen’s Baton on its 100 day journey across the nation in the lead- up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Sage was nominated by principal Kerry Christie and was one of the lucky 3800 Australians to be selected.
Premier Annastacia Palaszcuzk said the list of names were selected through a community nomination program.
The lists have been compiled by judging panels in each state and territory.
Benarkin School is very proud of Sage’s achievements since starting in Prep.
Sage will be given a uniform to wear as she carries the baton that will become a treasured keepsake of her special role in GC2018.
Sage will run in the Kilcoy section of the relay on Tuesday, March 27, next year.
