THE South Western
Times is taking a look back over the CinefestOZ Film Festival’s history in celebration of its 10-year anniversary across 10 weeks.
This week we travel back to 2011, where the festival was launched with the first public screening of Red Dog, attended by special guest producer Nelson Woss and star attraction Koko.
A record nine Australian feature films screened at the festival in which director Fred Schepisi and actor David Wenham received CinefestOZ Screen Legend awards.
In the same year, the festival saw the first premiere screenings held in Bunbury and Margaret River, 900 students attended the Cinesnaps Schools Program and the first Directors Lunch was held at Aravina Estate.
