Festival organisers keep fingers crossed for sunny day

South Western Times - - News -

HOPING for sunshine after wet weather cancelled last year’s event, the LiveLighter Dardanup Bull and Barrel Festival is planned for October 7.

The free event is themed Fire Your Imagination with a focus on the arts and scores of activities, stalls, exhibitions, and entertainment showcasing the attractions of Dardanup and Ferguson Valley.

Highlights at the festival include an animal farm, goat races, a craft marquee, fashion parades, photo booths, die-cast models and a wearable agricultural art competition.

Festival chairwoman Jill Cross said the low-cost day out would allow families to enjoy a rural experience with hands-on activities and a thrilling end with the lighting of a fire sculpture. She said the day relied on volunteers, sponsors and Dardanup Shire Council.
