“It is really exciting to speak to the kids and show them that being in the country doesn’t have to limit the sporting journey you have to take.
“I am so proud of this region and I am just so glad to see the South West doing as well as it is.”
Scott, who represented Australia at the Beijing, London and Rio Paralympics, said the response from the community had been overwhelming.
“I have been hugged and highfived by so many of these kids,” he said.
“I have had kids come up to me and say ‘you have inspired me to be a doctor’ which has nothing to do with sport but it is just great feedback.
“I want to be known as someone who is always willing to give because I have received so much and I have a lot to do to catch up.”
Taylor, who played for the Hockeyroos at the London Olympic Games, said it was a great honour to be chosen as part of the program.
“To be invited back to share your story is a great feeling,” she said.
