City wel­comes new di­rec­tor

A NEW City of Bun­bury di­rec­tor is hop­ing to con­tinue ad­vo­cat­ing for Bun­bury as he tran­si­tions into his po­si­tion.

The City of Bun­bury this week wel­comed new plan­ning and de­vel­op­ment ser­vices di­rec­tor Gary Bar­bour to the or­gan­i­sa­tion.

His ca­reer has seen him work through­out the South West, in­clud­ing at Bus­sel­ton, Don­ny­brook-Balin­gup and Bun­bury.

Mr Bar­bour said he was eager to im­merse him­self in the new role.

“I am a pas­sion­ate ad­vo­cate for Bun­bury and am thrilled to join the City of Bun­bury and the ex­ec­u­tive lead­er­ship team,” Mr Bar­bour said.

Chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Mal Os­borne wel­comed Mr Bar­bour to the or­gan­i­sa­tion and said he brought a wealth of knowl­edge.

“Gary is a great as­set to the City of Bun­bury and comes highly ex­pe­ri­enced in lo­cal gov­ern­ment and pri­vate en­ter­prise,” Mr Os­borne said.

“He brings a wealth of knowl­edge to the plan­ning and de­vel­op­ment ser­vices direc­torate and I look for­ward to work­ing with him on the ex­ec­u­tive lead­er­ship team.”
