BEL­MONT res­i­dent Edith Khangure has been recog­nised for her out­stand­ing ser­vice to St John Am­bu­lance WA. Af­ter 33 years’ ser­vice, Ms Khangure was pro­moted to a Dame of St John in a cer­e­mony at Govern­ment House this month. Ninety-two mem­bers were recog­nised for their work by WA Gov­er­nor Kerry Sanderson. St John CEO Tony Ahern thanked all mem­bers for their sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tion to the or­gan­i­sa­tion. “Be­ing ad­mit­ted to, or pro­moted within, the Or­der of St John is a great hon­our and we are very proud of the vol­un­teers and staff recog­nised this year,” Mr Ahern said. “Oc­ca­sions such as the In­vesti­ture bring at­ten­tion to the re­mark­able vol­un­teers and em­ploy­ees at the core of St John who help de­liver a world-class am­bu­lance ser­vice and help make first aid part of every­one’s lives.”
