Born in 2008, Gidgee was spon­sored by BHP Bil­li­ton Mount Keith Mine Site. He was named af­ter the tree Aca­cia cam­bagei, which is pro­lific in their area and more com­monly known as ‘Gidgee’, and the bright yel­low flower suited the bouncy yel­low puppy.
