Bel­mont area gets NBN ready

WORKS have started on the NBN net­work in Bel­mont, Cloverdale and Kew­dale.

More than 8200 eastern sub­urbs premises will be cov­ered and locals can ex­pect to see con­trac­tors dig­ging trenches, in­stalling new pits and test­ing fi­bre ca­bles.

The net­work is ex­pected to be switched on later this year in the new cov­er­age zone.

More than 470,000 premises in WA are al­ready able to switch over to NBN.

“It’s great news for lo­cal res­i­dents and busi­ness own­ers in these ar­eas who will soon also be able to con­nect,” WA’s NBN cor­po­rate af­fairs man­ager Ebony Aitken said.

Fur­ther con­struc­tion cater­ing for an­other 9300 homes and busi­nesses in River­vale, Red­cliffe and re­main­ing parts of Bel­mont, Cloverdale and Kew­dale is ex­pected to com­mence in com­ing months.
