Plastic blog bags advice
PERTH blogger Lindsay Miles says plastics are down-cycled into lesser quality plastics, so people should consider being mindful of what they buy, reuse what they have, and choose more natural products.
She held workshops in the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale on Tuesday, May 30, encouraging the audience to eat more fruit and vegetables and jump online for tutorials to find bulk food stores, farmers’ markets and tutorials for making their own produce like cheese, yoghurt or even bathroom products.
“Do I want to create waste or do I want to avoid waste?” is the question she often asked herself after starting a Plastic Free July challenge, then slowly making permanent changes to her lifestyle. She encourages others to do the same through her website www.treadingmyownpath.com.
“I feel like if you can afford to buy a cup of coffee, you can afford to buy a reusable cup,” she said.
Mrs Miles said people often avoided change due to cost, time, or not knowing how to do things for themselves.
