Call for help in weed­ing

PEO­PLE are in­vited to Grab a Gladdy Day events in Man­ning and Bel­mont to help re­move the weed on Oc­to­ber 1.

The pink glad­i­o­lus is an in­tro­duced plant that is now a ma­jor weed in bush­land ar­eas, com­pet­ing with na­tive plants for re­sources.

Events hosted by the City of South Perth and City of Bel­mont in­vite com­mu­nity mem­bers to help re­move the in­va­sive gladdy from lo­cal bush­land.

The City of South Perth’s event will take place at Goss Av­enue at 10am.

Those who want to take part at Sig­nal Hill Bush­land should meet at the Bel­gravia Street en­trance near Alexan­der Road and to reg­is­ter by email­ing en­vi­ron­ment@bel­mont.wa.gov.au or call­ing 9477 7257.
