Hidden gems include river walks
EUGENIE Stockmann is passionate about sustainable developments and hidden gems in the Town of Victoria Park.
The Lathlain resident has created two sustainable developments in her suburb as a founder of The Green Swing.
“The concept was to create better infill; we looked at a standard quarter-acre block and asked how can we do better,” she said.
“The vision was for more green space, a sense of community and to encourage creativity.”
Mrs Stockmann said there was a lot to love about living in the Town.
“Albany Highway is something unique in Perth; to have something that is busy seven days per week is amazing – there aren’t many places like that,” she said.
“There are lots of hidden gems here. It’s a bit working class and not as posh as some other places but the community is amazing.”
Mrs Stockmann said among her favourite spots in the Town was down by the river, where she could go for walks.
“I’m always surprised about what I can find when I go for walks around Victoria Park,” she said. Such people are everywhere it may be the hip barista who gets you going in the morning, the caring under-9s netball coach, a talented street-corner busker or even a celebrity you were lucky enough to score a selfie with. #SnapPerth is all about celebrating and sharing what we love about the city we live in, so remember, once you snap, you have to hashtag and share.
