SCREEN HOME WITH SIMPLE STEPS

Southern Gazette (Belmont) - - STREET WATCH - -Nathan Trenberth

I'm no climatologist, nor do I have any statistical evidence to back me up but in my opinion this winter measured 'extreme' on the miserable scale. Now there's the slightest hint of warmer weather I like letting a little sunshine and warm breeze come in through my front fly screen door. Unfortunately crooks see an unlocked fly screen door or open window as an opportunity to sneak in and steal your stuff even when you're at home. Police always see an increase in this type of opportunistic theft, where crooks get into homes and units through unlocked doors and windows, in the warmer months. You can take simple measures, such as ensuring your front screen door is always locked even when you're home, to significantly reduce your chance of being a victim of this type of crime.
