DAY 1 of Perth’s round 6 fix­ture against Su­bi­a­coFloreat on Satur­day has gone the Demons way.

Choos­ing to bat, open­ers Jonathan Wells and Ja­cob Snad­den quickly put on a half-cen­tury at Floreat Park Oval.

Wells was dis­missed first ball af­ter lunch for 57 and this then be­came 5139, but in-form Dain More­ton (84) and Josh Ni­cholas (45) res­ur­rected the in­nings.

Dean Nelson chipped in with 33 and Perth fin­ished with 298.

With one over to face, Ni­cholas trapped opener McKen­zie lbw and Su­bi­aco-Floreat fin­ished on 1-6.

Sec­ond Grade is well placed at 2-66, need­ing 132 for vic­tory.

Lach­lan Pratt 3-34 and Jake Van Galen, in his re­turn from in­jury, with 313, were the pick of the bowlers.

Third Grade have a big chase next week as they need 260 for a win.

In Fourth Grade, Perth have fought back well. Runs were the prob­lem once again as Perth mus­tered just 129 but skip­per Ku­nal Mishra (4-32) has Su­bi­aco-Floreat at 7-81.

South Perth made 272 at Richard­son Park in their fix­ture against Rock­ing­ham-Man­durah, the vis­i­tors strug­gling at 3-17.
