PERTH Zoo is the place to be these sum­mer school hol­i­days, with plenty of new an­i­mals wait­ing to wel­come you.

In the Pri­mate Trail, the em­peror tamarin fam­ily has given birth to a new young­ster, which can be seen cling­ing to its dad’s back but get­ting more in­de­pen­dent ev­ery day.

Mother Ee­mee and fa­ther Javier will be kept busy with four older off­spring also climb­ing around the ex­hibit.

Vis­i­tors will also be able to spot two new bin­tur­ong cubs that are just start­ing to ex­plore be­yond their nest box in the Asian Rain­for­est.

The young male Jakarta and fe­male Enam are the first bin­tur­ong to be born at Perth Zoo in its 119-year his­tory.

The zoo’s Aus­tralian Bush­walk is burst­ing at the seams with na­tive new­bies, such as Lowana the koala joey.

The zoo’s tallest new ar­rival, El­lie the gi­raffe, can be seen stretch­ing her long legs along­side herd­mates Ki­toto and Ar­mani.

Perth Zoo is open 9am to 5pm ev­ery day of the year, in­clud­ing Christ­mas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
