Life­line for do­mes­tic vi­o­lence

CHAR­ITY Star­ick is hold­ing a writ­ing pro­gram to help do­mes­tic vi­o­lence sur­vivors gain con­fi­dence and per­spec­tive on life.

Mar­ket­ing and com­mu­ni­ca­tions of­fi­cer Jane Cornes-Maclean will run the Lived Ex­pe­ri­ence pro­gram at Star­ick’s refuge in Gos­nells in May, with the dates to be fi­nalised. There will be three half-day ses­sions ded­i­cated to writ­ing and pub­lic speak­ing about lived ex­pe­ri­ences in­clud­ing loss and hopes.

Star­ick is a Cloverdale-based char­ity that sup­ports women and chil­dren es­cap­ing fam­ily and do­mes­tic vi­o­lence.
