An­toine prone to re­alise goals

AN­TOINE Var­gi­olu is sprint­ing to­wards a bright fu­ture in the athletics field af­ter dom­i­nat­ing at the Lit­tle Athletics WA State Track and Field Cham­pi­onships.

The Bel­mont City Col­lege stu­dent and Wat­tle Grove res­i­dent (15) won four gold medals at the cham­pi­onships on March 2-3 and was awarded the Ath­lete of the Year Award.

His gold medals were for the 100m sprint, 100m hur­dles, long jump and 200m sprint.

An­toine trains at Gerry Archer Ath­letic Cen­tre in Cloverdale, Hart­field Park Re­cre­ation Cen­tre and HBF Sta­dium.

“On Mon­day I train sprints, Tues­day I train hur­dles, Wed­nes­day is a rest day but I’m usu­ally in the pool re­cov­ery, on Thurs­day I train hur­dles and on Fri­day I’m in the gym,” he said.

“I usu­ally train for about an hour but I fo­cus on in­ten­sity.”

An­toine Var­gi­olu is work­ing to­wards a goal of com­pet­ing at the Olympics or Com­mon­wealth Games.
