Antoine prone to realise goals
ANTOINE Vargiolu is sprinting towards a bright future in the athletics field after dominating at the Little Athletics WA State Track and Field Championships.
The Belmont City College student and Wattle Grove resident (15) won four gold medals at the championships on March 2-3 and was awarded the Athlete of the Year Award.
His gold medals were for the 100m sprint, 100m hurdles, long jump and 200m sprint.
Antoine trains at Gerry Archer Athletic Centre in Cloverdale, Hartfield Park Recreation Centre and HBF Stadium.
“On Monday I train sprints, Tuesday I train hurdles, Wednesday is a rest day but I’m usually in the pool recovery, on Thursday I train hurdles and on Friday I’m in the gym,” he said.
“I usually train for about an hour but I focus on intensity.”
Antoine Vargiolu is working towards a goal of competing at the Olympics or Commonwealth Games.
