Midweek title tilts

Southern Gazette (Belmont) - - DRIVEWAY -

THE two South Perth Bowling Club Fourth Division sides missed opportunities to move into promotion finals last week, but two midweek sides will feature in pennant grand finals this Thursday at South Perth.

At Sorrento, Midweek One White defeated Manning for the second time in eight days to move into the grand final. The 72-43 victory also earned South Perth the hosting rights for this week after underdogs Spearwood defeated top seed Sorrento.

Victory this Thursday would secure a return to Premier League for the 2018-2019 season.

Also travelling north were Two White, who were in Quinns Rocks for their pennant tilt.

The Millers were able to hold on in a thrilling contest, 58-57, to book a spot in the grand final, having already secured automatic promotion by topping their division.

South Perth will challenge Melville for the pennant flag, with both matches kicking off at Mends Street at 1.30pm on Thursday.

Midweek Four Blue took irresistible form into their firstround promotion match at against hosts North Perth, having won their previous six games.

The visitors played well and were only overcome late, eventually losing 57-68 in a tight contest.
