Southern Gazette (Belmont) - - LOCAL FOCUS -

IF you have experienced pelvic floor problems, the women’s health physiotherapists at Back In Motion Health Group can help.

Bladder, bowel and pelvic floor muscle conditions can affect anyone at any time in their lives, but problems are most likely to be experienced during pregnancy, in the postnatal period or around the time of the menopause.

Having your pelvic floor muscles assessed by a specially trained physiotherapist allows them to prescribe the right form of treatment for you.

This may be in the form of specific exercises, involve the use of biofeedback or in some cases manual therapy.

Treatment is dependent on your symptoms and your overall goal.

If the pelvic floor muscles are working properly, you are less likely to experience conditions such as incontinence or symptoms from pelvic organ prolapse.

Women’s health physiotherapy can also address issues with pelvic pain, scarring following childbirth and bowel dysfunction.
