Uni couldn’t find the net

CURTIN University Soccer Club were defeated by Joondalup United 2-0 on Saturday.

Goals to man of the match Adam Buckley and substitute Ricky Gardiner either side of half-time were enough to get the job done for the undefeated Joondalup side.

Curtin’s Khaled Salhah and Eddie Tikoft were the best for the visitors but they could not find a way to break down the home side.

Within nine minutes, Joondalup took the lead after a long throw was flicked on and Buckley put the ball away from close range.

It was not the best start by the university side but they fought back and went agonisingly close as Fraser Grant raced through on goal, and chipped the advancing James Bosdet, only for his effort to go centimetres over the bar.

Curtin play host to Olympic Kingsway on Friday night at Edinburgh Oval.

Eddie Tikoft was the best for Curtin.
