Thundersticks are go
SOME talented local lads have been announced for the WA Thundersticks team which will compete in the 2014 Australian Hockey League.
Eighteen athletes have been selected for the AHL which will take place at the State Hockey Centre in Gepps Cross, South Australia from October 4-11.
A five-athlete strong Train-On squad has also been named alongside the 18.
This year’s AHL competition will see the introduction of the new quarters format, with matches played in four periods of 15 minutes, in place of 35-minute halves.
Head coach Nathan Eglington said that selection had been difficult.
“The selection panel has left no stone unturned in trying to pick a group which will give us the best chance of success.”
