Ice Bucket Challenge a fair cop for cause

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Kensington -

FOUR police officers were put on ice recently as the worldwide Ice Bucket Challenge phenomenon reached all the way to the Kensington police station.

The four participants – Detective Sergeant Rob Jamieson, Senior Sergeant Ash Goy, Detective Senior Sergeant Simone Parke and Sergeant Brad RichardsScully – were soaked in in ice and water.

It all started when Det Sgt Jamieson was nominated by a colleague.

He then spread the word, getting the others on board as the event gathered mo- mentum.

The buckets were large and their uniforms were soaked but all agreed it was for a good cause.

They raised more than $300.

Who’s next? Well they have nominated family members and friends, but also Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan.
