Royal Life Saving Society in spotlight with double win
EDUCATING Australia in water safety since 1934, the Royal Life Saving Society WA (RLSSWA) excelled at the 2014 Sport and Recreation Industry Awards recently.
The RLSSWA won two out of the three categories it was nominated for. The society was awarded The Creating a Better Workforce Award alongside The Minister’s Award for Industry Excellence as the most outstanding finalist from all award categories.
Alex McKenzie said it was fantastic to finally be recognised for the broad work they did in the society.
President Ross Peters accepted the $10,000 winning cheque on behalf of the organisation on July 30 and said the award would not have been possible without the ongoing support of the State Government.
McKenzie will retire at the end of this year but said he was excited to remain involved with RLSSWA as a board member.
