Microscope on science studies

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Como Local Government Reform -

RACHEL Forman is looking forward to donning the white lab coat and safety glasses in January when she joins about 400 young people for the National Youth Science Forum.

The Como Secondary College student hoped she would get a lot out of the forum.

“I really hope to meet a lot of wonderful people and establish long-term friendships,” she said.

“I also hope to learn about what fields of science I could potentially study one day.

“I love knowing how everything works. Science helps connect me to nature and helps me develop a deeper appreciation for the world I live in.”

Forum director Damien Pearce said it was a chance for young people to learn more about their study and career options in a professional and supportive environment.

More than 1200 young people expressed interest in attending the Forum and selections were made by Rotary clubs across Australia.
