CRACKDOWN AT BELMONT FORUM
KENSINGTON Detectives arrested two people at a room in a lodge on Great Eastern Highway on Thursday, September 11, as part of an ongoing investigation into fraud and forged currency related offences. The 32-year-old man and woman from Carlisle are due to appear in court on October 16, charged with Commonwealth Crime Act offences of possessing counterfeit money, manufacturing counterfeit money and possessing instruments for manufacture. They have also been charged with fraud, drug possession and the BELMONT Police recently conducted an operation in and around Belmont Forum to address issues such as shoplifting, anti-social behaviour and stealing from motor vehicles. Uniformed officers and those in plain clothes implemented a number of simple strategies that had a great result. Feedback from members of the community was very positive and highlighted the value of the new policing model, as much of the information to implement the operation came from the public. – Belmont Snr Sgt Peter Arancini possession of unlawfully obtained property.
JAMES THE Central Metropolitan Crime Team officers are seeking the offenders who killed a family’s pet dog during a burglary on a house in St James. Sometime between 12.30pm and 7pm on June 28, offenders entered a house on Burlington Street in St James and stole several iPads and the victim’s 2007 Holden R8 Clubsport. The family’s jack russell Jet (pictured) was also taken. Jet was found dead several hours later in Rivervale. On 7 July, the victim’s stolen Holden Clubsport was located abandoned on Bourke Street in Leederville. Anyone with information to identify these offenders is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
VICTORIA PARK A 45-year-old man from Mindarie faced charges in Perth Magistrates Court last week, relating to alleged drug and weapon offences after being arrested in East Victoria Park. The man was charged with failure to stop, drug possessions charges with intent to sell of supply, possession of unlawfully obtained property, and aggravated possession of a firearm plus failure to secure firearm with circumstances of aggravation. He appeared in court on September 16 and 17. He was remanded to appear again last Friday.
A 1992 white Falcon ute 1CYD164 was stolen after breaking down on Tonkin Highway in Redcliffe. If seen please call police on 131444.
