Butcher Medal all White on the night

HARD-WORK­ING mid­fielder Dene White capped an out­stand­ing in­di­vid­ual sea­son on Fri­day night when he won his first Butcher Medal in Perth’s Fairest and Best Count with 122 votes.

The re­li­able on­baller en­joyed an out­stand­ing sea­son to de­velop into one of the best mid­field­ers in the com­pe­ti­tion.

White played all 20 matches dur­ing the sea­son and fin­ished with 462 pos­ses­sions.

Cap­tain Paul Be­van was sec­ond with 99 votes and de­fender Michael Sinclair third with 81 votes. The night also saw the re­tire­ments an­nounced of Be­van, who is re­turn­ing to Syd­ney after three years as well as sharp shooter Matthew Moody, Nick Kane, Brad Fry and Jared Risol.

Perth Demons foot­ball club chief ex­ec­u­tive Marty Atkins also pro­vided an up­date about the pend­ing an­nounce­ment of the new coach.
