Butcher Medal all White on the night
HARD-WORKING midfielder Dene White capped an outstanding individual season on Friday night when he won his first Butcher Medal in Perth’s Fairest and Best Count with 122 votes.
The reliable onballer enjoyed an outstanding season to develop into one of the best midfielders in the competition.
White played all 20 matches during the season and finished with 462 possessions.
Captain Paul Bevan was second with 99 votes and defender Michael Sinclair third with 81 votes. The night also saw the retirements announced of Bevan, who is returning to Sydney after three years as well as sharp shooter Matthew Moody, Nick Kane, Brad Fry and Jared Risol.
Perth Demons football club chief executive Marty Atkins also provided an update about the pending announcement of the new coach.
