Baker makes travel plans

AQUINAS Year 12 stu­dent Alexan­der Baker dreams of study­ing ur­ban plan­ning and trav­el­ling the world. Both are achiev­able and re­al­is­tic given the 17-year-old was re­cently named the WA win­ner of the Aus­tralian Ge­o­graphic Ge­og­ra­phy Medal com­pe­ti­tion. Alexan­der re­cently com­pleted five days of mock WA Cer­tifi­cate of Ed­u­ca­tion exams and said he was pleas­antly sur­prised he had done so well. Cur­rently en­joy­ing a school hol­i­day break, the am­bi­tious stu­dent said he was hon­oured to have done so well and the re­sult had given him con­fi­dence for his WACE exams in Novem­ber. He hopes to study at Curtin or UWA next year but also has his eye on trav­el­ling to Africa.
