SWORD IN HAND

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Opinion -

WE agree with Hayley Bent (“Australians unite”, Gazette, September 30) that there are many good Muslims; indeed, they could be far better than we are.

The fact is, however, that Islam has been marked by war mongering since its inception. It became a world religion by the sword, whereas Christianity did so despite the sword.

Peace-loving Muslims are so despite their religion, not because of it.

Carson Street School received a spruce up when Lend Lease employees converged on the East Victoria Park school as part of their annual community day. Natalie Steel and Andrea Macrae are pictured putting the finishing touches on a painting job as part of a program that helps Lend Lease employees give something back to their local communities. They were among 30 Lend Lease staff and contractors who spent the day gardening, laying lawn, painting and cleaning at the school ,which is WA’s only Primary Education Support School.
