IT is said by many that more crimes have been com­mit­ted by our main re­li­gions in the name of God.

His­tory shows that view is wor­thy of note and jus­ti­fi­ca­tion.

No re­li­gion has a mo­nop­oly on what is good or bad. After turn­ing and read­ing the pages of the said re­li­gions, pages red with blood of the in­no­cent, I also be­lieve that if there were no God peo­ple would have to in­vent one be­cause they need the com­fort of a belief.

A god­less so­ci­ety would bode no peace. MIKE WARD, Carlisle.
