FRINGE World 2014’s award-winning new musical Point and Shoot has followed its success in Perth with a whirlwind festival tour of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Written and composed by local duo Tyler Jacob Jones and Robert Woods, the satire features four actors in a variety of roles while singing, dancing and playing a range of musical instruments.

Woods, of Floreat, said although some audiences on tour were louder than others, they all left with beaming faces, which was the greatest reward.

“I think I’m most surprised that we managed to pack down all our props, costumes and 16 instruments and lug them on to airplanes and trains and taxis to four different states,” he said.

“When you see the show set up on stage, it looks a little overwhelming but we manage to squish it all into a few suitcases, except for the double bass. That was tricky.”

Woods said they hoped to return with another Perth season early next year.

Point and Shoot cast Robert Woods, Tyler Jacob Jones, Erin Hutchinson and Tamara Woolrych.
