Tag on for free travel
TRANSPERTH is reminding passengers at Belmont, South Perth and Victoria Park train stations that they must still tag on when using public transport on the free travel day on Monday, November 3.
Patrons will still need to pay for parking if they drive to the station as free parking is not included in the offer.
The free travel is being offered to Transperth passengers to compensate them for fares paid between July 1 and November 1 this year, which included the 1.5 per cent carbon tax.
“We need to keep a record of how many people are using the system, so we would ask that passengers still use their SmartRider as they would any other day,” Transperth spokesman David Hynes said.
“We will ensure that no fare is taken from their SmartRiders.”
Passengers who normally use cash tickets will not need to buy one when they get to the station.
