Leavers farewelled in style

EV­ERY colour imag­in­able filled the court­yard at Pen­rhos Col­lege re­cently as the Year 12 stu­dents were farewelled with the col­lege’s an­nual Flower Day.

Friends, fam­ily and fel­low stu­dents gath­ered in the school’s Mar­garet Way Court­yard to cel­e­brate the leavers’ time at Pen­rhos and wish them well for life after school.

The cer­e­mony in­cluded speeches and mu­si­cal per­for­mances, fol- lowed by the stu­dents bury­ing a time cap­sule con­tain­ing let­ters they wrote to them­selves, to be opened at their 10-year re­union.

The cer­e­mony con­cluded with the girls be­ing pre­sented with flow­ers from their fam­ily and friends.

Flower Day is part of the Pen­rhos tra­di­tion of ‘leav­ing well’, which is fin­ish­ing school in a way that is cel­e­bra­tory, joy­ful and re­spect­ful.
