Ac­tiv busy on its open day

EVER wanted an in­sight into how peo­ple liv­ing with dis­abil­i­ties work? To­mor­row, Ac­tiv is open­ing the doors of its East Vic­to­ria Park Business Ser­vices fa­cil­ity to the com­mu­nity.

The open day will pro­vide an in­sight into sup­ported em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties for peo­ple with dis­abil­i­ties.

Chief ex­ec­u­tive Tony Vis said through the em­ploy­ment ser­vices, in­di­vid­u­als could de­velop work­place skills in relation to tasks, con­duct, per­for­mance and safety as well as de­vel­op­ing so­cial skills in a com­mer­cial en­vi­ron­ment.

“Our em­ploy­ees have the op­por­tu­nity to be part of a com­mer­cial op­er­a­tion and de­velop skills in such di­verse ar­eas as tim­ber manu- fac­tur­ing, prop­erty care, e-waste re­cy­cling, in­dus­trial ser­vices and ad­min­is­tra­tion,” he said.

Ac­tiv East Vic­to­ria Park Business Ser­vices em­ploys and trains peo­ple with dis­abil­i­ties and of­fers jobs in gen­eral and spe­cial­ity pack­ag­ing.

The or­gan­i­sa­tion of­fers paid part­time and full-time po­si­tions and op­er­ates from Mon­day to Fri­day 8.303.30pm.
