Private taxi plate values dropping by as much as $150,000 had our online readers interested this week. It is unfortunate for the plate holders value-wise, but this will be beneficial for the public good in the long run. Any plate value is a net loss to both the rider and the driver in terms of higher taxi rates, and higher lease-values that the driver must pay off for literally no good reason. Taxis are an important component of the public transport system and a reasonably higher level of taxis with ondemand flexible booking will be great. - Kyle Also, Gazette editor Michele Nugent won the WA Football Commission's Development Media Award.
