Lessons from past
TALENTED students from Manning, Curtin, Victoria Park, Collier, Lathlain and Wilson primary schools came together for the first Curtin Education Community History Project.
The CEC is a network of 14 local primary and secondary schools that developed the initiative to give teachers and students the opportunity to collaborate on a unit of work across a network of schools.
The topic was Local Heroes and students worked with teachers to develop their historical inquiry skills. They researched a person who they perceived as a hero.
The local heroes came from a range of areas, including students, family members, medicine, literature, sport and politics.
