Lessons from past

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Manning -

TALENTED students from Manning, Curtin, Victoria Park, Collier, Lathlain and Wilson primary schools came together for the first Curtin Education Community History Project.

The CEC is a network of 14 local primary and secondary schools that developed the initiative to give teachers and students the opportunity to collaborate on a unit of work across a network of schools.

The topic was Local Heroes and students worked with teachers to develop their historical inquiry skills. They researched a person who they perceived as a hero.

The local heroes came from a range of areas, including students, family members, medicine, literature, sport and politics.

South Perth Primary School principal Karen Owens with Collier Primary School student Charli Fatton.
