Facility costs up
THE anticipated cost of the Manning Community Facility development has increased to more than $18 million.
Earlier this year, the project was expected to cost $16 million, but it is now $18.8 million.
James Miller Oval works and energy efficiency initiatives were among the works whose value had increased.
Tonight South Perth council will decide whether to endorse a final design report.
In September, the City held two community information sessions and used feedback from these to enhance the project.
The cost of the oval development increased from $480,000 to $1.2 million but will include demolition of the sports pavilion, new turf, new playgrounds and new park furniture and exercise equipment.
Funding will come from the City, land sales and a $1 million Lotterywest grant.
Construction should finish in August 2016.
