Glory ready for Sydney

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Sport -

PERTH Glory Women will next take on Sydney FC in the Westfield W-League semi-finals after going down 2-1 to Canberra United in their final regular season match at Viking Park on the weekend.

Coach Jamie Harnwell said he was pleased with the game, despite the loss.

“The best thing about it was it was a competitive game,” he said.

“They were right in our faces, making it hard for us, which is what we will face in the finals, so I was happy from that aspect.”

Even with injuries to goalscorer Samantha Kerr and goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold, Harnwell is confident Glory will be prepared for the clash with Sydney, at Perth Oval on December 14.

“We’ve been preparing for this semi-final for three weeks really,” he said.

“Hopefully Sam and Macca will be fine, but I’m confident we’ve still got the team and quality even if they’re not.”
