Community springs into action to help the needy
IN JUST six weeks, the South Perth Youth Network collected more than 20 boxes of donations as part of its Spring Clean Out.
The clean-out was an initiative of SPYN to give unwanted items to Southcare’s op shop.
City of South Perth Mayor Sue Doherty said this was the first year SPYN had done something like this.
“It has been a great success and in just six weeks they collected over 20 boxes of donations, with more still coming in,” she said.
“This initiative by SYPN reflects how empowering young people in our community can reach out to those who truly have needs beyond those some can relate to and at times can slip through the cracks.”
