New chief has same message
A RESHUFFLE of officers at Kensington police station has resulted in Sergeant Roberta Richardson now being at the helm of Local Police Team 5.
The team covers Salter Point and Como.
Sgt Richardson said one of the area’s its main issues was vehicle break-ins.
“People are still leaving valuables in their cars,” she said.
“Wallets and credit cards are being stolen which result in frauds being committed.
“We are trying to get the message out there about taking all valuables out of their cars by talking to members of the public and social media.”
Sgt Richardson said the plan for the team in the new year was to increase visibility and identifying local issues by attending schools, libraries and local events.
