Prisoners raise funds
BORONIA Pre-release Centre for Women in Bentley donated funds raised through its annual Gala Day to Reconciliation WA’s ‘Let’s Drive’ program.
The $14,765 funding will provide driver training for 20 students at Lockridge Senior High School.
Each year, the minimum-security women’s prison hosts a Gala Day, raising money for a not-for-profit organisation through the sale of food, art and craft items.
Corrective Services Commissioner James McMahon presented Reconciliation WA Board Member Irina Cattalini with the cheque for almost $15,000 on Thursday, December 11.
