HONORARY VIC PARK RESIDENT IS GUEST SPEAKER

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Opinion -

of $9.62 million, which includes a stated $2.26 million for “New Civic Centre Building Loan” with the description “Assumes new civic centre funded by loan”.

In response to my questions at a council meeting on December 15, I was told that the loan costs could continue for another 10 to 20 years, and that the estimated cost of a new civic centre is not yet known.

At the time I told the council that the answers were “wishy- washy”.

How can City of South Perth ratepayers make an informed decision with such fundamental uncertainty and inadequate information on such a big possible/probable cost as a new civic centre?

Celebrated international artist, illustrator and author Charles van Sandwyk will be guest speaker at Crow Books in Victoria Park tonight at 6.30pm. Many would be familiar with his distinctive illustrations featured in his range of hand-made small press limited-edition books for collectors available at Crow Books. Van Sandwyk, a Canadian, is an honorary Victoria Park resident as he spends a couple of months in Vic Park every year. Drinks and nibbles provided.
